El padre Eufemio Hermógenes López Coarchita, nació en Ciudad Vieja, Sacatepéquez, el 16 de Septiembre de 1928. Tercero de una familia de 8 hermanos. Fueron sus padres Ángel López y Victoria Coarchita. Sus hermano y hermanas Clemencia, Floilan (+), María Alicia, María Sarbelia, Jacobo Israel, Juan Bautista y Ángel Arturo.Entró al seminario el 2 de mayo de 1944 a los 15 años de edad. Cursó la Teología en San Salvador de 1951 a 1954, el Arzobispo de Guatemala, Mons. Mariano Rossell Arellano lo Ordenó Sacerdote en Guatemala, el 7 de Noviembre de 1954.En Noviembre de 1966 fue nombrado párroco de San José Pinula, donde desempeño con gran compromiso y fidelidad su Ministerio Pastoral, hasta la fecha de su muerte. Fue asesinado el 30 de junio de 1978 el pueblo de San José Pinula, y la Iglesia de yoda Guatemala, recuerdan agradecidos su memoria, pues como jesús, pasó por el mundo haciendo el bien.Autor: Radio Estrella

recuerdo cuando el padre Hermógenes visitaba la finca el Pintado en Antigua, nosotros como eramos patojos,corriamos atrás de él porque siempre llevaba alguna golosina para nosotros y cómo eran escasas las golosinas por ellí en ese tiempo.
